みなさんこんにちは！今、私は大学が春休み中で時間があるので、ここぞとばかりに映画をたくさん観ています。映画館で観るのも好きなのだけど、夜、寝る前にベッドの上で毛布に包まれながら観るのが大好き。ジンジャーティーにスコッチを垂らしたものを片手に。あぁ幸せ。今日は、最近観たものの中で、特に考えさせられた1本をみんなに紹介するね。

I love watching films in the theatre, but I also love watching movies in my bed right before I go to sleep, alongside a cup of ginger tea with a bit of Scotch whiskey. This is happiness! Today I will share my thoughts on this film I watched recently.
Er Ist Wieder Da / 帰ってきたヒトラー (2015・ドイツ)
あらすじ
1945年にベルリンで死んだはずのアドルフ・ヒトラーがなぜか現代のベルリンに蘇る。ものまね芸人だと人々に勘違いされる中、クビになった局への復帰を目論むテレビマンにスカウトされてテレビに出演する。彼の気迫に満ちた演説を聞き、視聴者は彼をヒトラー芸人としてもてはやす。そして、知らず知らずのうちにヒトラーに扇動されていく…。
Plot
Adolf Hitler wakes up in the 21st century. He quickly gains media attention, but while Germany finds him hilarious and charming, Hitler makes some serious observations about society.
この映画、フィクションとして観ると、ブラックジョーク満載でとっても笑える映画だと思うのだけど、驚いたのが、ヒトラーに扮した役者が実際のドイツの街に飛び出し、市民やネオナチといった人々の話を聞く、セミドキュメンタリー形式を取っているということ。映画の中で、ヒトラーがネオナチとバーで政治的な議論を交わすシーンがあるのだけれど、みんなナチス式の敬礼をしていた。ヒトラーが街の人々にインタビューをするシーンでは、カメラの前で、外国人労働者や外国人の流入を抑えることに肯定的な姿勢を表していたり、現代でも強制収容所が必要だと言ったり、ヒトラーのように強い指導者がいるなら、民主主義は必要ないという人たちがたくさん写し出されていた。もっとも驚くべきことは、ヒトラーの姿を見て喜ぶ人がいるということ。逆に、ヒトラーに対して怒りをあらわにする人はとても少ない。最初は、笑って観ていたが、徐々に笑えなくなってくる。
1番ショックだったのが、最後に本物の難民排斥デモの映像が重ねられていたこと。これはファンタジーでも、フィクションでもなく、現実なのだ。
To me, this fictional film is like dark humour. However, it was surprising to find out that it's actually a semi-documentary. The actor, Oliver, dressed up as Hitler and appeared in Berlin; he actually went and talked to people, including Neo-Nazis. In the film, Hitler met these Neo-Nazis at a bar and debated about politics. After the debate, everyone did a Nazi salute. When Hitler interviewed people on the street, some people said that they agree to the idea of reducing immigrants and foreign workers, that they still need concentration camps, and if they have a strong leader like Hitler, there will be no need for democracy. The most surprising thing I saw in the film was that there were people who were actually happy to see Hitler. At first, I could laugh watching the film (editors' note: Hikari means that, cinematically, the film utilizes elements of dark humour she found funny), however, as the story continued, I couldn't laugh at anything. I was so shocked when I saw one part of the film had a real anti-migrant demonstration. No longer fantasy or fiction, it was real.
アメリカではトランプ大統領が誕生し、日本では右寄りの安倍さんと自民党が支持されている。選んでいるのは、私たちなのだ。
困難な状況に陥った時に、物理的な方法で抑止をすることは、根本的な解決にはならない。先日起こったフロリダの銃乱射事件を受けて、トランプ大統領は、教師が銃で防戦すれば、乱射事件はたちまち終わる、と発言したらしい。物理的な方法では何の解決にもならないのに。銃を無くすこと、銃が無くても成り立つ社会にすることを目指すべきではないのか。
As we all know, the US has Trump as their president. In Japan, people support Prime Minister Abe who is right-wing and in LDP. We are the ones who choose our political leaders.
There was a shooting in a Florida high school a few weeks ago, as you may know. Trump said, "you don't know until you test it, but I think, I really believe I'd run in there, even if I didn't have a weapon. And I think most of the people in this room would have done that too." Honestly, I don't think that physical methods solve anything. I believe in building up a society which doesn't require guns is what we should see as a goal.
このまま世界が右寄りの思想になっていってしまうのがとても恐ろしい。ヒトラーが笑顔で迎えられる世の中にゾッとした。私たちは自分の周りで起きていることだけで無く、外で起きていることをもっともっと見て、知って、他人ごとでは無く、自分のこととして考えなくてはいけないと思ったよ。
It's so scary to think that the world might become a place for extreme right-thinking societies. I imagined Hitler welcoming us with a huge smile and I got shivers. I want to think, know and care about the political and social things that are happening in the world because it could be my situation any second. It's not only someone else's life anymore. It can be mine.
