The air is crisp, there are only a few people, and it is so cold that the wind pierces at my skin. In search of a quiet place far different from hectic Seoul, I jumped on a train crying and headed to a place I didn’t know. The driver of the taxi that I got straight into after getting off the train stepped on the gas to drive me to their recommended spot after I told them, “I came to see the sea.” Unlike the taxi drivers in Seoul who don’t tend to speak to the passengers, this driver talked with me for the entire 30-minute ride. This made me really feel that I came to a place far away from Seoul.
